What Happens During a Heating Service Call
It doesn’t matter how prepared you are in terms of keeping up the maintenance on the heating side of your HVAC, there will come a time when you will need to have a heating service call performed.
Hopefully, these issues can be caught when you have your annual or semiannual maintenance regimen done. Nobody likes the thought of a heating system going down in the dead of winter.
But when it is time for that heating service call here are a few issues that should be addressed by your service technician.
Lubrication of All Moving Parts
A heating unit is just like any other machine. It has moving parts and those parts should be well lubricated. After inspecting all moving parts, your service technicians can point out any problem areas and offer solutions to keep from having any additional heating service calls.
Your service technician can also tighten any parts that have loosened themselves.
Fan Belts and Blower Motors
At some point within your heating system there are either blowers operated by an electrical motor and fan belt, or a blower mounted directly onto an electrical motor. Either way this component is responsible for dispersing the warm air throughout your home. A worn belt should be replaced and a loose fan should be tightened to make your unit run more efficiently.
Thermostat Operation
During a heating service call is the ideal time to either have your thermostat calibrated, or replaced. If you have one of the older dial-type thermostats you may want to consider upgrading to a more efficient digital model. These newer model thermostats are much more precise and do a better job of keeping a steady temperature in your home.
These are just some key issues your service technician will address during a heating service call. If you need any further assistance please contact us with any needs that you might have regarding your heating service call.
